What is the Green card wait estimator?
The green card wait estimator compares your priority date with the current Visa Bulletin cutoff. It determines date position, not a guaranteed filing or approval date.
How it works
- 1
Choose the chargeability area based mainly on country of birth, not citizenship or residence.
- 2
Select the correct EB or family category and the applicable Chart A or Chart B.
- 3
Enter the priority date shown for your petition or labor-certification case and compare it with the cutoff.

Frequently asked questions
Can this tool predict my green card approval date?
No. It only compares dates. Case processing, visa allocation, and future bulletin movement affect the actual timeline.
What do C and U mean in the Visa Bulletin?
C means Current, with no cutoff-date restriction. U means Unavailable for that category in the stated month.
